Drinks Vending Machine Design
There are lots of different designs of drinks vending machines but
unlike In Cup Plus, not all offer excellent hygiene and tasty hot and cold drinks.
| | | | | |
How Is The In Cup Plus Vending Machine Different?
Most current drinks vending machines use a 1950's "wet" drink mixing system which
require a rigorous daily cleaning regime that is essential to avoid bacterial growth.
Environmental Health Magazine carried out an investigation and concluded that 80%
of vending machine operatives were not practising the recommended daily four stage
cleaning/ disinfecting cycle and 23% of automatic vending machine nozzles were contaminated
with E Coli type 1.
In Cup Plus have designed a range of unique, hygienic and fully automatic drinks
vending machines which offer greater hygiene standards than the current industry
standard.

Solutions to Drinks Vending Machine Design Problems
In Cup Plus have found solutions to a number of vending machine design problems
and examples are included below.
-
Q:- Why does my drink sometimes taste a bit odd?
There are many reasons why this happens. One of the most common complaints is that
the drinks have a chemical odour.
A:- This does not happen with In Cup
Plus Vending Machines as we have moved the boiler directly behind where the drink
is dispensed, so the distance from the boiler outlet to the cup is dramatically
reduced to less than 10 centimetres. In Cup Plus also uses the highest quality grade
polished stainless steel tubing so there is no possibility of water contamination...

Q:- We use good quality ingredients in our machine but they never taste as good
as homemade?
Traditional drinks machines use open canisters. There are a multitude of problems
associated with this type of container which can result in anything from stale drinks
to a potential serious health hazard.
A:- In Cup Plus ingredients are dispensed
from our unique, factory sealed disposable cartridges. The ingredient remains fresh
and safe, protected inside the cartridge, ready to be dispensed...
» In Cup Plus design solution means that our vending machine drinks taste homemade.
-
Q:- When I am at work I feel a bit queezy - could it be our drinks vending machines?
The antiquated mixing systems used in nearly all traditional machines is extremely
crude not dissimilar to a domestic toilet, this systems is referred to in the trade
as "push and flush" for obvious reasons. Ingredients are churned out of the canister
by a basic Archimedean screw arrangement dropping dry ingredient into a mixing bowl.
Water flows into the mixing bowl and the mixture is flushed around the bowl and
falls out of the dispense pipe under gravity.
A:- In Cup Plus vending machines are
designed so that the cup moves to the ingredient cartridge and fresh ingredients
are dispensed directly into the cup that you are going to drink from just like you
make at home. This simple idea eliminates at a stroke any possibility of cross contamination
and bacterial growth.
» In Cup Plus have designed hygienic drinks vending machines.
-
Q:- When I take cold water and other drinks I get drips of tea or coffee in my water?
This is the most common complaint and is caused by two things, firstly the mixing
system layout and the actual point of dispense. Because the dispensing tubes from
the mixing bowl all converge to a single point cross contamination of the drinks
is almost a certainty.
A:- In Cup Plus vending machines dispense
fresh DRY ingredients directly into the cup so the possibility of drink cross contamination
and bacterial risk is eliminated. The only thing to come out of the single water
dispense pipe is fresh, clean, filtered uncontaminated water.
» In Cup Plus vending machines do not enable cross contamination
of drinks.
