FFI's FAIR Instant continues to provide support
FFI the coffee people has announced the latest achievements in supporting children
in coffee-producing regions of Colombia from sales of its FAIR INSTANT coffee product.
Working with Save the Children, the FFI initiative sees 20p per jar, 50p per drum
and 30p per vending pack sold donated to the charity for direct use in the coffee-producing
regions. To date, FFI reports that money raised has produced the following results:
- 537 uniforms and gym kits provided.
- Lunch for 845 children.
- 150 children have been helped into school.
- Training workshops for 189 teachers.
- 100 children have been given help to attend sport and leisure activities.
- Five schools have been equipped with specialist disability equipment.
- 1,000 copies of a game have been produced to provide information on sexual health
for young people.
- Help with the establishment of small mobile libraries in six rural schools.
- Equipment for school radio stations provided.
FFI reports that by February 14, the figure raised for Save the Children through
sales of FAIR INSTANT is anticipated to reach £100,000. During 2008 the range
will be extended to include new products for retail and vending including FAIR Ground
Coffee, FAIR Instant Cappuccino and FAIR Instant Hot Chocolate. Other initiatives
are alos planned, including the provision of branded FAIR hot beverage machines
in new comfortable seating areas to be located in selected Save the Children stores
following major re-branding of the charity early this year.
